This elegant Art Deco sterling silver demi-parure was designed in 1949 by Gundorph Albertus for the studio of renowned Danish silversmith, Georg Jensen. The design - known as Bittersweet - features oval shapes overlaid with paired foliate motifs that resemble palm fronds. The base of the fronds are accented with polished beads. As seen in the accompanying photographs, the design includes polished ovals links that alternate with the foliate motif links. One of the polished oval links on the necklace and one of the polished oval links on the bracelet function as hidden box clasps and are fitted with a hinged safety latch at the side.

The collar-style 15.25" necklace has 20 links that rest flat on the skin. The back of the oval box clasp is hallmarked with the oval Jensen maker's mark along with the words "STERLING" and "DENMARK" and design number "94B". The necklace weighs in at 64.2 grams.

The earrings have screw closures enabling them to be worn by those with pierced or unpierced ears. The decorative portion at the front measures .75" by .625". The backs bear the oval Jensen mark along with design number "110" and the designation "925 S DENMARK". They have a combined weight of 8.6 grams.

The 7.25" bracelet is composed of 12 links, the widest of which measures .625". The back of the oval box clasp is hallmarked with the oval Jensen mark along with "925 S DENMARK" and "94B". The piece weighs in at 39.5 grams.

The demi-parure is in very good original condition with no replacements or repairs. As vintage items, the set shows signs of age consisting of minor marks/scratches to the surface of the silver and traces of tarnish which are mentioned for accuracy.

This highly collectible Georg Jensen Bittersweet demi-parure would be a wonderful addition to an assembly of Jensen silver jewelry or to a wider grouping of fine jewelry by other designers. A classic find!
