A charming, period print of the Royal Family on a drive in Windsor Park. It shows Queen Victoria with one of her many babies, accompanied by one of her ladies in waiting. And then, in the centre, there is an enchanting, horse driven carriage with the Prince of Wales and his sister. His Prince of Wales feather symbol is on the carriage doors. A groom oversees the children. In the distance, there are two noble riders and further in the distance, stands the tower of Windsor Castle. The engraved print, which has been hand coloured, is titled The Royal Infant’s Drive in Windsor Park. The print was published by a London company in Threadneedle St.
Queen Victoria was Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland from 1837 until her death in 1901. She was married to Prince Albert and they had nine children.
It is a delightful print with a bit of staining at the very corner of the picture, although not actually near the picture itself, but rather on the paper. There is a bit of fading in the colours, but they are still good. The framed picture measures 11 ¾” x 9”. It is the original, Victorian frame, circa 1875.
