Who doesn't love a Boxer puppy dog?
This adorable character, designed by Mortens Studio in the 1930's-1940's, shows that Boxer "pudgy puppiness" to perfection!
Sitting 2 3/4" tall x 3 1/2" long x 1 3/4" wide, he is so sweet and realistic-looking, that you can't help but wonder just what antic he is contemplating!
He is in great condition, with a very tiny chip on his side (see picture #4.) Any tiny white spots you might see in the pictures are only the result of the camera. He still has a portion of his original foil label on his back.
The designer of this figurine, Oscar Morten, immigrated from Sweden to the U.S. and opened a gift ware studio in Chicago in 1931. Over the next 32 years, he created over 300 popular dog and horse models. Composed of ceramic over a metal skeleton, these figurines, although beautiful and engaging, were prone to crazing and flaking, thus making it difficult, today, to find examples in perfect condition.
This Boxer pup is also the perfect desktop "friend", guaranteed to make you smile!
He would also make a wonderful gift to any Boxer lover, but we caution you that once you see him, he will be quite difficult to give away!
